Yesterday around noon, Jeannie Cross went home to be with the Lord.
We got a call around 11:30 a.m. yesterday from Scott (her husband) and was told that Jeannie’s heart had stopped and they were doing CPR. Scott rushed to the hospital and when he got there (Malia and Susie came right after him), Scott got to escort Jeannie down to the CICU (where we had just spent the last three weeks). They told Scott that they had been able to regain her heartbeat. It was not long after that that she had another heart failure. They could not revive her heart again after that one.
In an email that Scott sent, he said: “Oh my gosh, I hurt and at the same time I know, without a doubt, that she is more alive than she ever was, and I have a wonderful hope and promise that I will see her again. Thanks for your continued prayers as we all grieve. Jeannie has run the race well. I am going to miss her terribly. I will let you know when we will be having her celebration service. It will most likely be next week sometime. When you watch the fireworks tonight (on the 4th of July), think of Jeannie’s Freedom. She is with her Lord, her job is done. No more pain, just enjoying a long embrace from Jesus.”
I just wanted to thank you so much for your prayers throughout this journey of ours…with Jeannie and her cancer the last 6 months. What a roller coaster of emotions!!! But, the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.
Last but not least, I have been getting emails and calls about Jeannie Cross and how people can help. We have set-up a fund for The Cross Family through our church (since he is the pastor and everything).
If you want, please send any monetary donations to:
Olive Branch Community Church
P.O. Box 10816

Please put in the memo line “The Cross Family Fund”
Today, Scott is making arrangements for the “Viewing” and the “Memorial Service” for this week…I will let you know as soon as I know when those will take place. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement!!!
